THE COAGULATION DEFECT IN HEMOPHILIA: STUDIES OF THE CLOT PROMOTING ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH PLASMA EUGLOBULIN IN HEMOPHILIA 1

Abstract
Dialysis of cellular-free citrated normal human plasma against cold running tap water for 8 days yields an euglobulin precipitate containing practically all of the clot-promoting activity of the plasma for hemophilic blood in vitro and in vivo. When this plasma euglobulin in saline soln. is injected intraven. every 6 hrs. into patients with hemophilia the coagulation time of their blood is maintained at a lowered level during the period of injs.
