Abstract
THE association of superficial moniliasis, idiopathic hypoparathyroidism, Addison's disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis in a single patient is previously undocumented. One purpose of this paper is to describe such a case. There are reports of 8 patients with moniliasis, idiopathic hypoparathyroidism and Addison's disease.1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Circulating antibodies to adrenal and thyroid tissue were found in the serum of this patient, suggesting the possibility of an underlying autoimmune disorder. Her younger sister has superficial moniliasis and idiopathic hypoparathyroidism; her serum contained no antithyroid or antiadrenal antibodies. In the younger sister severe symptomatic hypercalcemia occurred during the performance of a reputedly safe procedure utilizing . . .Keywords
